A day with this AI employee
An example of a working day. What your AI employee does depends on the tools and rules you set up.
- 8:00 amGoes through the tickets and emails that arrived overnight, answers the ones covered by your approved help content, and tags the rest by topic and urgency.
- 11:00 amHandles common requests such as order status, how-to questions, and account changes within the permissions you gave it. Refunds and exceptions go to a person.
- 3:00 pmWhen a case is outside its remit, it writes up what the customer asked, what it already checked, and what it suggests, and assigns it to your team.
- 6:00 pmLeaves a summary in the Activity log: what it resolved, what is waiting for a person, and the questions it kept seeing that your help content doesn’t cover yet.
How you control it
- Inbox. Replies that need a decision, such as a refund, an exception, or a sensitive topic, wait for a person to approve or decline. You decide where the line is.
- Spending caps. Set limits on how much it can spend and how much work it takes on, including per-transaction caps for anything that involves money.
- Activity log. Every reply and every system it touched is recorded, so you can check what a customer was told and why.
How it differs from hiring
A support hire needs training, covers set shifts, and handles one queue at a time. An AI support agent works from the content you give it and can pick up the routine queue outside your team’s hours.
They don’t replace your team’s judgment. They take the repetitive questions so people can focus on the harder ones, and they never have to guess: when unsure, they ask a person.
